Due to a high demand for medical assistance at facilities in the Katutura suburb of Windhoek the Ministry of Health and Social Services decided to let the Katutura Clinic operate at all hours of the day.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Libita Manga confirmed that the clinic’ working hours have been extended to assist with patients who needs urgent medical attention during at night.
Manga said the Minister will soon make an official announcement to the public about the operational plans soon.
“With the ever-increasing number of people migrating to the city, the number of accident victims and those being stabbed with knives and victims of other violent crimes has been on the increase in the capital.”
The clinic will help the residents of Katutura who are struggling with transport to travel to the Katutura State Hospital for assistance.
According to Manga the large amount of patients sometimes puts immense pressure on the casualty ward at the Katutura State Hospital.
