It’s raining in southern Namibia

NAMIBIANS living in the southern part of the country like their counterparts in the north celebrated as the first rain of the new season fell late on Wednesday afternoon.
In the deep south good rains were reported by residents of Rosh Pinah. A little bit further north isolated showers were reported at Sossusvlei and Maltahohe as well as between Mariental and Gibeon. Light rain were also reported in Keetmanshoop and Gochas.
Residents of Windhoek also reported some rain late on Wednesday afternoon.
Good rains were received in the northern half of Namibia since the middle of last week and Namibian from all walks of life celebrated the advent of the new rainy season which is predicted to be good this year.
According to the Namibia Meteorological Services people in the north east of Namibia can expect sunny and very hot weather while elsewhere in the country partly cloudy and hot to very hot condition can be expected.
A few thunder showers might occur over the Khomas Region and extreme-southwest while isolated thundershowers are in the forcast for the Hardap and Karas Regions.
People at the coast can expect partly cloudy and warm to hot weather with a few showers on the southern coast.
According to the Namibia Meteorological Services sandstorms are most likely over the central coast as east wind conditions will prevail.
