New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to bat against the hosts, England in the final match of the 2019 Cricket World Cup at Lord’s in London.
England, playing in their first final for 27 years, will start as favourites against the 2015 runners-up.
New Zealand will be fielding the same 11 players that defeated India in the semi-finals.
The hosts boast of the most destructive 50-over batting line-up comprising Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, Joe Root, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes. Roy and Bairstow have been intimidating in this tournament. England’s batters will look to bludgeon New Zealand out of the match.
New Zealand, on the other hand, has it all to do. The Blacks Caps would likely be satisfied putting 250 runs on the board and letting their bowlers and outstanding fielders defend the score with their lives.
