Trustco is seeking a results-driven Financial Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax legislation, and support sound financial decision-making.<br>Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Financial Management and Reporting<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Oversee monthly and year-end financial reporting, including the preparation of management accounts and annual financial statements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare general ledger reconciliations, working papers, trial balances, ledgers, and financial reports;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear suspense accounts to ensure accurate financial records;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drive the timely completion of month-end and year-end accounting processes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analyse and interpret financial information to support management decision-making;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Account for the property portfolio, including investment property, lease accounting, rental billing, and property-related expenses;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with monthly cash flow projections, annual budgets, and financial forecasts, including variance analysis;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare income tax calculations and submissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accounting Operations<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Manage, train, and supervise the junior accounting team;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oversee cashbook entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>transactions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage accounts receivable and payable, including invoicing,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reconciliations, journals, and intercompany transactions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oversee the debtors\u2019 function, including invoicing, debtor statements,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>collections, and account reconciliations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oversee the creditors\u2019 function, ensuring accurate processing,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reconciliations, and timely completion of related accounting activities;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform intercompany and external accounts receivable and payable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reconciliations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage VAT reconciliations, returns, and related audits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compliance, Auditing and Taxation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure compliance with applicable International Accounting Standards (IAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and relevant Namibian tax legislation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage the year-end external audit and internal audit reviews, including audit planning, preparation of audit files and supporting schedules, and ensuring the timely resolution of audit findings and implementation of recommendations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain accurate financial records and ensure that reconciliations and supporting working papers are properly prepared and filed;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax legislation, and financial reporting requirements;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform other ad hoc accounting and financial duties as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Candidate Profile<br>The ideal candidate will 12 certificate;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A tertiary qualification in Accounting, such as a B.Acc, B.Com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accounting, or an equivalent qualification;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least five (5) years of relevant accounting and financial management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>experience;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency in CaseWare or Draftworx financial reporting software is<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>essential;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong computer literacy and practical experience with core accounting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>software packages;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A thorough understanding of IAS and IFRS;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A minimum requirement to be considered as a possible shortlisted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>candidate for the vacant position will be that the applicants must successfully pass the \u201cTrustco Group Integrated Annual Report Test\u201d which will consist of multiple-choice questions from the annual report of the
