TWO days after the murder and rape of Roswinds Fabianu, the Namibian police, on 28 April 2025, allegedly discovered a bloody knife in the toilets of K.W. von Marees Combined School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The discovery of the weapon in the toilet at K.W. von Marees Combined School followed the murder and rape of Roswinds Fabianu, aged six, a minor who had disappeared on 25 April 2025, allegedly from the K.W. von Marees Combined School in the small town of Okahandja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fabianu allegedly attended school dressed in ordinary clothing (not school uniform), and her class teacher sent her home, unaccompanied by an adult and without informing her parents. She was found dead the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The death of Fabianu happened a month after the first minor, Ingrid Maasdorp, had been raped and murdered on 20 March 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The revelations come after the Namibian police arrested an 18-year-old man identified as Tjivikua Karinambande, a young man who also attended the same school as the two murdered minor girls. After going for a year and a few months without answers, the police are said to have apprehended Karinambande while he preyed on his next victim on 10 October 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Karinambande is said to have attended the same school, K.W. von Marees Combined School, but had allegedly been suspended in September 2025, after he allegedly cut CCTV camera cables donated to the school after the murders. He never returned afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dolly Maasdorp, the grandmother of little Ingrid, is now suing the Namibian government for damages of N$2.2 million, as she accuses the school of being negligent in that it had not informed parents that there would be no school on the date little Ingrid disappeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dolly, in court documents, recounted that on 20 March 2025, little Ingrid had been dropped off at school at 06:50 by her grandfather and two other minor relatives but could not be found when the family returned to pick her up at school at 12:00 the same day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That day, Dolly and her family members allegedly searched for Ingrid without success, and also opened a police case. One minor, a Grade 0 learner, had indicated that he had seen Ingrid being led away by a woman wearing a bonnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe continued to search for Ingrid throughout the night by driving through the streets of Okahandja. At some point, I was asked to stay at home in case Ingrid comes home or someone will bring information about Ingrid,\u201d Dolly said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The next day, 21 March, Dolly said that the search continued. \u201cWhilst at one of the houses making inquiries on Ingrid, I was telephonically informed by one of the teachers that they found Ingrid\u2019s body under the bridge on the main road leading from Windhoek to Otjiwarongo through Okahandja. It is referred to as the A1 Road,\u201d Dolly said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She added that whilst the police and teachers had prevented her from seeing the body at the bridge, she had finally viewed her granddaughter\u2019s remains at the mortuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHer tiny body was brutalised. Her back and legs were severely injured with bruises and lacerations as if she was beaten with a sjambok or something similar. The skin on one side of her face was peeled or torn off. She was tortured. The medical personnel at the mortuary informed me that her hips were broken and she was raped. It was the most terrible sight ever. I could not stop crying,\u201d Dolly said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Karinambande, who has been arrested in relation to the cases, faces seven charges, including violating a dead body and four charges relating to rape and murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some months after Ingrid\u2019s murder, another witness, an adult female, said that she saw a child with a pink hoodie and a school skirt walking behind the school\u2019s hostel and towards the A1 road. That was apparently at the time when she was going to work, which was around 7:30 on 20 March 2025. The woman confirmed that the child was accompanied by a slender person with a bunny on his or her head, a hoodie and maroon tracksuit pants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
