{"id":399425,"date":"2026-08-16T22:30:00","date_gmt":"2026-08-16T20:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=399425"},"modified":"2026-08-16T21:52:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-16T19:52:49","slug":"anti-poaching-rangers-return-fire-suspect-injured-and-driver-arrested","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=399425","title":{"rendered":"Anti-poaching rangers return fire, suspect injured and driver arrested"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Staff Reporter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 30-YEAR-OLD man was injured in an alleged exchange of gunfire with anti-poaching rangers at a farm in the Outjo district, while another suspect reportedly fled the scene and an alleged getaway driver was arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the weekend crime report, the incident happened on Saturday at Farm Kifaru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is alleged that two men, aged 30 and 45, entered the farm and were spotted by anti-poaching rangers who were on patrol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Upon seeing the rangers, the suspects allegedly opened fire, prompting the rangers to return fire and injure the 30-year-old suspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was transported to Outjo Hospital for medical treatment, while the 45-year-old suspect allegedly fled the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police reportedly recovered a hunting rifle, two rounds of live ammunition, two spent cartridges, a knife, an axe, bread and chips at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 35-year-old man, who is allegedly the getaway driver, was also arrested.
