THE Deputy Minister in the Office of the Vice President, Moses \/\/Khumub, has called for targeted opportunities in higher education and specialised fields of study that actively promote the inclusion and advancement of San, Ovatue, and Ovatjimba Namibians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor too long, a mismatch between community needs and state interventions has slowed our national progress. We must address this mismatch immediately. The human and financial resources that the Government continues to deploy through the Office of the Vice President must directly correspond with visible, positive outcomes on the ground,\u201d \/\/Khumub said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He made these remarks during a working visit to the Bravo !Khung Resettlement Farm in the Kavango West Region, where he urged the Division of Marginalised Communities to accelerate the implementation of key development initiatives. He stressed that such efforts must be reflected in the country\u2019s education system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLook at education, for example. We cannot continue to have state resources readily available for school infrastructure development, yet when we look at our rural classrooms, we find few or no qualified San-speaking teachers. This narrative must change under our watch. The Division of Marginalised Communities must fast-track critical growth interventions. We need to create targeted opportunities in higher education and specialised courses of study that actively mainstream San, Ovatue, and Ovatjimba Namibians. We want to see your sons and daughters returning to these communities as qualified educators, nurse practitioners, agricultural experts, and administrative leaders,\u201d \/\/Khumub said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He assured the community that the Office of the Vice President, as well as the entire Eighth Administration, is committed to prioritising the inclusion of marginalised communities in the country\u2019s development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUnder the steadfast leadership of Her Excellency the Vice President, alongside the Division of Marginalised Communities, we have committed to executing our mandate in support of marginalised communities to the best of our abilities. I would like to assure you that the Eighth Administration continues to place the development agenda of marginalised communities at the very centre of our national planning and budget priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs an Office, we recognise that true, sustainable development cannot be dictated from an office in Windhoek. It must be born right here on the ground. We must plan from the grassroots level,\u201d \/\/Khumub added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
