Iipinge made the remarks during his recent State of the Region Address (SORA), which aimed to assess the region\u2019s progress and outline future priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhile progress has been recorded in offences such as housebreaking at residential and business premises, assault with grievous bodily harm, robbery, theft, and gender-based violence continues to pose a challenge to community safety,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iipinge further revealed that cases of rape, domestic violence and sexual violence declined from 759 reported cases in 2024\/2025 to 670 cases in 2025\/2026.
