However, according to \/Goagoses, this achievement was undermined by wildfires in some parts of the region, which caused significant damage to grazing areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe region has recorded above-normal rainfall, leading to improved pastureland. Meanwhile, sporadic wildfires occurred in Omatjete, Spitzkoppe, Uis, Usakos and Okombahe, resulting in an estimated loss of 40 to 50 hectares of pastureland,\u201d she revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She therefore urged local authorities and traditional leaders to intensify public awareness of the dangers and consequences of veld fires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI urge all leaders, including the esteemed traditional leaders, to kindly sensitise their communities to the consequences of veld fires.
