CHIEF AUDIT EXECUTIVE
(1 x Windhoek)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Job Responsibilities:
\u2022 Provide strategic leadership in identifying and evaluating enterprise-wide risk areas to maintain and improve a risk-based Annual Internal Audit Plan, and present the plan for review and approval by the Audit Committee;
\u2022 Lead the development, approval, and ongoing review of the Annual Internal Audit Plan, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and risk priorities;
\u2022 Oversee and direct the Internal Audit function, including the planning, resourcing, execution, and monitoring of all internal audit activities;
\u2022 Serve as the primary liaison to the Audit and Risk Committee, including the preparation and presentation of quarterly reports, audit outcomes, and key risk insights;
\u2022 Provide independent, objective assurance on the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control processes through financial, operational, and compliance audits;
\u2022 Oversee the evaluation and continuous improvement of business processes and internal control systems;
\u2022 Ensure the Internal Audit function operates in accordance with recognised professional standards and maintains a robust quality assurance and improvement programme;
\u2022 Review and approve audit engagement objectives, scope, methodologies, and audit programmes to ensure consistency and quality;
\u2022 Provide oversight and direction on complex or high-risk audit engagements, including the identification of key issues, root causes, and practical recommendations;
\u2022 Provide final oversight and quality assurance on all Internal Audit reports, ensuring findings, conclusions, and recommendations are clear, well-supported, and aligned to organisational risk priorities, prior to submission to the Audit and Risk Committee;
\u2022 Ensure timely, accurate, and impactful reporting of audit findings and recommendations to executive management, the Audit and Risk Committee, and the Board;
\u2022 Promote a strong culture of ethics, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organisation;
\u2022 Perform any other executive-level responsibilities as may be required in support of the organisation\u2019s governance and assurance objectives.
\u2022 Collaborate with internal departments to align risk planning with operational requirements;
\u2022 Various ad hoc administrative, analytic, operational, reporting and other duties as required;
\u2022 Coordinate and liaise with the External Auditor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Candidate Profile:
\u2022 Positive attitude, inter-personal relations and excellent communication skills;
\u2022 Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage time, meet deadlines and perform well under pressure;
\u2022 Strong attention to detail, with well-developed planning, coordination, and reporting capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment;
\u2022 Good analytical, qualitative, administrative, organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills;
\u2022 Must be fluent in “I\u2019ll circle back on that”;
\u2022 Sound understanding of risk management principles, internal controls, and strategic planning processes;
\u2022 High levels of integrity, accountability and professionalism;

Qualifications and Experience:
\u2022 A recognised Bachelor\u2019s degree in Internal Auditing, Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution;
\u2022 A relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. Honours, Master\u2019s degree, or equivalent) will be advantageous;
\u2022 Minimum of 8\u201310 years\u2019 experience in internal auditing, with at least 3\u20135 years in a senior management or leadership role;
\u2022 Professional certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent is preferred;
\u2022 Experience in engaging with executive management, Audit Committees, and Boards will be advantageous;
\u2022 Proficiency in data analytics and audit tools (e.g. ACL, IDEA, or similar) will be an added advantage;
\u2022 Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of core accounting software packages;
\u2022 Proficiency in the use of Artificial Intelligence will be an advantage.
\u2022 A minimum requirement to be considered as a possible shortlisted candidate for the vacant position will be that the applicants must successfully pass the \u201cTrustco Group Integrated Annual Report Test\u201d which will consist of multiple-choice questions from the annual report of the group, portfolios and subsidiaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
