The flooding has also led to the temporary closure of several schools, including Muzii Combined School, Mpukano Primary School, and Nakuntwe Combined School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator Photos and videos: Facebook (Katima Mulilo Town Council and Matengu Bayo Bahwile).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Hydrological Services of Namibia, the Zambezi River reached a water level of 6.89\u202fmetres on Monday, 2.55\u202fm higher than the level recorded on the same date last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The eastern Zambezi floodplains continue to fill rapidly, with backflow already observed near Ngoma Bridge and Lake Liambezi. The Chobe River at Ngoma Gate, which feeds into the Zambezi, stood at 3.86\u202fm on Monday, adding to the swelling waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA flood alert is therefore advised for the eastern Zambezi floodplains.
