ORDINARY Namibians will do no harm to democracy and its institutions, and never did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is the so-called democrats that abuse freedoms to insult and incite and often do so namelessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Racist and tribal members of the National Assembly who wrongly call themselves \u201cparliamentarians\u201d and \u201chonourable\u201d are harming democracy, improved service delivery and democratic progress in unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Firstly, they are not parliamentarians, because the Namibian Parliament consists of both the National Assembly and the National Council!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Secondly, to deserve the title of HONOURABLE that someone else should remember you by, at the end of service or life itself, implies a person to have possessed HONOUR and being ABLE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is not a social media title, but the way you are treated that will determine honourable behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ignorance is one of the rare diseases that cannot be treated and it is terminal as being proved by the NUDO-one-man- show, Vetaruhe Kandorozu, with his white – hate insults in the National Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If he doesn\u2019t like the diversity in Namibia, he can leave, but nobody else will be going with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His tribalism and racism should not allow him back in the National Assembly when it resumes tomorrow. Kandorozu is one of the unique individuals who, on a life support system managed to switch it off himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If his party wants to forgive him, he must show the bravery that he claims his forbearers had and resign today. He must just go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He could have spared himself a lot of pain and embarrassment if he headed the warning of the First Gentleman, Lt-Genl. Epaphras Denga, barely three weeks ago that tribalism should not be allowed to rear its head anywhere in Namibia. Genl. Denga pleaded that Namibian tribal diversity must be deployed as sources of national power. Identity and political strength must ALWAYS have nation building at heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Clearly, this is something Kandorozo did not grasp, before he and his NUDO-faction committed suicide as lawmakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sadly, what Namibians see from all sides of the National Assembly appears to be organised tribalism to disrupt the very same democracy that elevated them to membership of the assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With all the challenges that the nation is facing from various corners and levels of society, the rules of political engagement should not become the hysteric cries of the politically wounded in the trenches of personal survival that Namibians are hearing, but somehow like a bad dream, hope will go away. Namibians must make the most of the peace that prevails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If tribalism is abused it will mean amnesty to self-styled victims in designer suits and dresses and a free hand to those who have not fear, but boundless arrogance to abuse, while everyday Namibians suffer neglect and are the proverbial turkey who turn up for an invitation to dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Namibia does not consist of only two tribes: one who is wronged and another that is wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Namibians must speak out and stand up for each other, because they survived not only bullets and bombs, but the fatal shots of factionalism, racism and tribalism that could have divided the Namibian soul in a tribe of hate and a tribe of bitterness where compassion and reconciliation would not have found space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is in the abandoned trenches of lost battles and defeat of apartheid that the Namibian spring of unity in adversity was blooming and a nation was born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The worst kind of racists are those who, for financial gain, pretend differently and live a double life.It is poison to transformation when everybody is not pulling in the same direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A first step in eradicating discrimination should be to erase the difference between racism and tribalism and treat them as the same evil, because they are. It is even racist to suggest otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is safe to say that the Racial Prohibition Act of 1991 and its amendments will hopefully be replaced after a national and honest dialogue, because it did not apply to the worst public instances of tribalism that were not addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Namibians would not find a more unjust law that divides more than it corrects bad behaviour. Namibians would then have achieved that racism punishment can be replaced with equality courts where injustices can be settled quickly and justly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It will also be hard to find a more abused law in spite of its ineffectiveness, where people of different races were abused, blackmailed and threatened with charges of racism and others receiving amnesty for tribal threats and insults even against the person and Office of the President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unequal laws don\u2019t create equal societies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moreover, it\u2019s an opportunity for personal and collective dedication towards a better Namibia for the future through a national inspection of the foundations of equality that is the golden thread that must keep the social fabric of unity together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have a nation where smaller groups are neglected and bigger groups demonised and in the middle, racists and tribalists have an open range to use discrimination as political cannon fodder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is one of the rare occasions for each Namibian to take up personal citizenship in promoting the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Namibian nation amongst and in association with the nations of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Namibians now have the unique obligation to claim their independence and shake off the tyranny of party-political infighting that keeps communities hostage and whose loyalty can be brought under suspicion by every political gangster who can only thrive in an atmosphere of divide and rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The challenge of a national dialogue is to respect every Namibian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
