{"id":390230,"date":"2026-03-02T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T01:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=390230"},"modified":"2026-03-01T20:12:02","modified_gmt":"2026-03-01T18:12:02","slug":"mtc-and-botswanas-bofinet-sign-mou","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=390230","title":{"rendered":"MTC and Botswana&#8217;s BoFiNet sign MOU"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Staff Reporter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NAMIBIA\u2019s Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) and Botswana Fibre Networks (BoFiNet) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing cross-border connectivity and collaboration between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The partnership was formalised in Gaborone this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A statement issued by MTC after the signing ceremony says that the MOU represents a shared vision for regional digital infrastructure transformation and is vital to trade facilitation, driving industrialisation and overall socio-economic development between the two countries and the SADC region at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through the agreement, the two parties will establish a structured framework for cross-border fibre interconnection, capacity exchange and IP transit collaboration between Namibia and Botswana. The Buitepos\u2013Ngoma corridor is not a mere physical interconnect point.
