NAMIBIA will take on Pakistan in their final Group A match of the ICC Men\u2019s T20 Cricket World Cup 2026 today at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo, with the Eagles seeking to finish their campaign on a high after a challenging run in the tournament. The match starts at 11:30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Led by captain Gerhard Erasmus, Namibia head into the encounter after defeats to the Netherlands, India and the United States. Despite moments of promise \u2014 including their highest-ever T20 Cricket World Cup powerplay total against India \u2014 the side has struggled to convert strong starts into match-winning performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Eagles previously impressed in warm-up fixtures, including a high-scoring win over Scotland, but have found the step up in intensity at the global event demanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Namibia began their tournament with a seven-wicket defeat to the Netherlands after posting 156\/8. Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton (42) and Jan Frylinck (30) anchored the innings, but Bas de Leede\u2019s unbeaten 72 guided the Dutch home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Against India, Namibia showed early intent, recording their best-ever T20 Cricket World Cup powerplay total (57\/1). Captain Gerhard Erasmus impressed with 4\/20 with the ball, but the side were eventually bowled out for 116 in reply to India\u2019s 209\/9, losing by 93 runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In their third outing, Namibia fell short against the United States despite a strong start in the chase. Louren Steenkamp\u2019s 58 kept hopes alive, but the Eagles closed on 168\/6 in pursuit of 199, going down by 31 runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pakistan opened their tournament with a tense three-wicket win over the Netherlands, chasing 148 with three balls to spare after Faheem Ashraf\u2019s late blitz turned the match in their favour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They followed that up with a convincing 32-run victory over the United States, posting 190\/9 before tightening the screws with disciplined bowling in the second half of the chase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pakistan suffered a major setback in their clash against India, bowled out for 114 in pursuit of 176 to lose by 61 runs. Despite Usman Khan\u2019s fighting 44, early wickets in the powerplay proved costly as India sealed qualification for the Super Eight stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pakistan are under pressure and will be pushing for victory to keep their Super Eight hopes alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For Namibia, the clash presents an opportunity to test themselves against one of the tournament\u2019s heavyweights and close out their fourth consecutive T20 Cricket World Cup appearance with a statement performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
