NAMIBIA is set to experience hot to very hot conditions over most parts of the country, with partly cloudy skies and a few to isolated thundershowers expected over the northern and central-eastern interior, while the coast will remain mild with fog patches, according to the Namibia Meteorological Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Synoptic analysis shows pockets of moisture drifting into the interior, resulting in partly cloudy conditions across most regions. A few to isolated thundershowers are forecast over the northern and central-eastern parts of the country, while the western and far southern areas are expected to remain mostly dry. Along the coast, partly cloudy conditions with fog patches are expected, especially during the early morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Temperatures will remain high across much of the country. Very hot conditions are expected in the south and parts of the west, with maximum temperatures of 37\u00b0C forecast for Keetmanshoop, Mariental, Aranos, Aroab, Noordoewer, Sesfontein and Helao Nafidi. Omaruru, Gobabis and Khorixas are expected to reach around 36\u00b0C, while Karasburg is forecast at 36\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the north, Ondangwa, Tsumeb and Oshakati are expected to reach 35\u00b0C, with Eenhana, Okahao, Okongo and Outjo also around 35\u00b0C. Opuwo, Omuthiya, Outapi and Tsumkwe are forecast at about 34\u00b0C, while Rundu, Grootfontein and Otjiwarongo are expected to record highs of around 33\u00b0C. Windhoek is forecast to reach 33\u00b0C, and Katima Mulilo and Nkurenkuru around 32\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Along the coast, milder conditions will prevail, with maximum temperatures of about 26\u00b0C in Walvis Bay, 24\u00b0C in Henties Bay, and around 23\u00b0C in Swakopmund, Oranjemund and Terrace Bay. L\u00fcderitz is expected to reach about 27\u00b0C, while Arandis may record a high of 30\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the interior, the forecast is partly cloudy and hot, with a few to isolated thundershowers over the northern and central-eastern regions, while the south will remain sunny and very hot. Windy conditions are expected to persist at places over the interior. Coastal areas will be partly cloudy and mild to warm, with fog patches at first. Winds are expected to be moderate to fresh westerly to south-westerly, becoming fresh to strong southerly to south-easterly in the south.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the Hydrological Services of Namibia reported that satellite imagery from the past 24 hours indicates that no showers were observed over the interior of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
River levels show mixed conditions. The Zambezi River at Katima Mulilo recorded a water level of 0.88 metres, significantly higher than the 0.32 metres recorded during the same period last year. The Okavango River at Rundu recorded a slight decrease to 4.88 metres from 4.90 metres yesterday, while the Okavango River at Divundu stood at 3.03 metres. On the Lower Orange River, water levels of 2.01 metres and 1.95 metres were recorded at Blouputs and Sendelingsdrift, respectively. The Kunene River at Ruacana recorded a flow of 172.50 cubic metres per second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
