SINSKUS Johannes, the accused in Friday\u2019s fatal shooting incident in the Iikokola village of the Oshikoto Region, had moments before the incident complained on social media about headmen who behave \u201cas if this country belongs to them\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said he wanted to go to town that day but was made to wait for the headmen for hours on end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moments after the incident, he went on social media again, announcing that he had committed a serious incident. \u201cI killed one of the headmen and injured the other… I am now going to hand myself over to the police,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Johannes and the two victims \u2014 the late headman Sam Nepando and headman I-Ben Nashandi, who is also the Executive Director of the National Planning Commission \u2014 are family friends with close social ties dating from their childhood, Informante has established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Magistrate Nelao Ya France postponed the case to 18 June to allow the accused to apply for legal aid. He was remanded in custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
