{"id":386066,"date":"2025-11-22T09:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-22T07:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=386066"},"modified":"2025-11-22T09:03:04","modified_gmt":"2025-11-22T07:03:04","slug":"former-walvis-bay-mayor-released-on-n10k-bail-following-money-laundering-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=386066","title":{"rendered":"Former Walvis Bay mayor released on N$10k bail following money-laundering charges"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Staff Reporter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THE former mayor of Walvis Bay, Wilfred Immanuel, appeared in the Walvis Bay Magistrate\u2019s Court after being arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on charges of money laundering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Immanuel faced two charges, which include corruptly using his office or position for gratification, as well as another count for contravening the Prevention of Organised Crime Act for acquiring property which is the proceeds of crime \u2013 money laundering on diverse occasions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was released on bail of N$10 000.
