She revealed that, in addition to the EU, KAZA TFCA has signed cooperation agreements with the UK High Commission to the Republic of Botswana, the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the Zambezi Watercourse Commission (ZAMCOM), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and the Wild Bird Trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hamunyela further revealed that KAZA TFCA also aims to collaborate with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The meeting focused on cross-border conservation, sustainable tourism, and climate resilience, with participation from the five KAZA Partner States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe gathering marked a leadership transition, as the Republic of Zambia handed over the two-year rotating KAZA Chairpersonship to the Republic of Zimbabwe. Accepting the reins, Hon. Dr Evelyn Ndlovu, Zimbabwe\u2019s Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife, emphasised the importance of regional cooperation and coordination,\u201d Hamunyela added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She also noted that the meeting highlighted KAZA\u2019s strong financial governance, with the approval of unqualified financial statements for the 2023 and 2024 financial years, as well as the confirmation of a Phase III grant from KfW. She pointed out that a Finance Experts Working Group was established to support future planning, and financial contributions to the KAZA Fund were reaffirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hamunyela further disclosed that the KAZA Partner States endorsed several key strategies, including an updated Elephant Action Plan that integrates findings from the 2022 survey and provides policy guidance on movement and connectivity.
