As of August 10, 2025, FirstRand Namibia maintains its position as the largest local company on the exchange with a market capitalization of N$12.5 billion. Capricorn Group has strengthened its second-place ranking with a market value of N$11.4 billion, followed by Mobile Telecommunications at N$6.4 billion and Namibia Breweries at N$6.0 billion. Capricorn Group led the market this week, with its shares rising 1.0% to close at N$22.02 per share. Standard Bank Namibia Holdings secured second place among gainers, advancing 0.5% to settle at N$11.11. Trading activity was dominated by Capricorn Group, which saw exceptional liquidity with N$2.4 million worth of shares changing hands during the period. Letshego Holdings Namibia recorded the second-highest trading volume, though at a considerably lower N$69 thousand worth of shares traded. The Namibia Dollar rebounded strongly against all major currencies this week. The 5.8% year-on-year growth rate represents the highest annual expansion since January 2020. Corporate borrowing drove the impressive growth figures, with businesses taking up N$4.87 billion in credit over the past twelve months, representing a substantial 10.6% annual increase. Overdraft facilities for corporations showed particularly strong momentum, growing 29.5% year-on-year, while installment credit jumped 19.9% annually. However, mortgage lending to corporations remaining subdued with a 3.3% annual decline. Individual borrowers contributed more modestly to the overall growth, with credit extended to consumers rising 2.4% year-on-year to reach N$69.2 billion. The growth was primarily driven by &#8220;other loans and advances&#8221; which increased 6.0% annually, while installment credit for individuals grew a healthy 15.4%.
