However, implementation will remain on hold until the City of Windhoek complies with specific conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Kahimise, these conditions include the submission of the 2023\/2024 Operating and Reporting Manual Financial Statements, a detailed report on the progress of ring-fencing the Electricity Business Unit and the measures in place to fully ring-fence the unit, as well as Power Quality reports covering both Quality of Supply and Quality of Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once these conditions are fulfilled, Kahimise confirmed that the electricity tariff for Windhoek will increase by 3.9%.<br>Similarly, he revealed that the approved 4% tariff increase for the Northern Regional Electricity Distributor (NORED) is also pending. For the increase to take effect, NORED must first submit audited financial statements for the 2022\/2023 financial year, obtain a commitment from auditors to finalise the 2023\/2024 audited financials, and provide Power Quality reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kahimise also confirmed that several other electricity distribution utilities have received ECB approval for tariff increases, which will remain effective until 30 June 2026. Erongo RED will implement a 3.7% increase, Oshakati Premier Electric a 3.5% increase, CENORED (Omaheke) a 0.75% increase, CENORED a 3.8% increase, and NamPower Distribution\u2019s tariffs will rise by 1.7%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Picture for illustrative purposes only.
