He emphasized that voters should choose leaders with verifiable histories of service and achievement, highlighting Swapo\u2019s presidential candidate, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, as the ideal choice to lead Namibia toward a prosperous future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing a Swapo Party star rally at Rehoboth in the Hardap Region on Saturday, President Mbumba said that time reveals the true capabilities of leaders. &#8220;Comrade Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and the Swapo Party have been tested like gold in fire, proving their ability to deliver economic development, eradicate poverty, create jobs, and maintain peace and stability in Namibia,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-autoplay=\"true\" data-delay=\"3\" upcoming elections on November 27, 2024, describing the party as one with a long-standing history of achievements and a commitment to national progress. &#8220;Swapo is the party your forefathers and mothers established to free us from the scourge of apartheid colonialism. It is here to stay and will remain the leading party in Namibia for years to come,&#8221; Mbumba asserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mbumba also highlighted the qualities of Nandi-Ndaitwah, describing her as pragmatic, integral, and inclusive. He praised her leadership as essential for propelling Namibia to greater heights of prosperity and maintaining its status as a beacon of hope for Africa and the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The president reflected on the Hardap Region&#8217;s historical role in Namibia&#8217;s fight for independence, lauding its contribution to the national liberation struggle. He emphasized the importance of fostering unity, upholding Swapo&#8217;s values, and voting for the party and its presidential candidate to sustain the gains of independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mbumba presented Swapo\u2019s achievements over the past 34 years, as well as its plans outlined in its manifesto for the next five years. These include infrastructure improvements, education enhancements, healthcare investments, and economic empowerment initiatives in the Hardap Region:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Economic Empowerment:<\/strong> Horticulture and poultry value chain development schemes benefitting 514 farmers with over N$1 million in support. A poultry project in the Daweb Constituency valued at N$277,692.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Infrastructure Development:<\/strong> Delivery of 16 boreholes, rehabilitation of 15 water points, construction of two earth dams, and installation of solar pumps to replace 18 windmills and six diesel engines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Education Investments:<\/strong> Construction of 16 classrooms and two ablution facilities at \/Anes Secondary School in Rehoboth and four classrooms at Stampriet Primary School.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Healthcare Enhancements:<\/strong> Installation of a state-of-the-art X-ray machine at Aranos Health Centre and a new dental chair with accessories, including an intraoral X-ray machine, at Mariental Hospital.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Mbumba concluded by urging Namibians to vote for Swapo to build on these successes and achieve economic emancipation from challenges such as joblessness, poverty, hunger, and disease.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Staff Reporter PRESIDENT Nangolo Mbumba has urged voters to avoid political parties and leaders who promise much but lack a proven track record of delivering results.
