Naanda, Executive Director of the Ministry of International Relations, explained that this includes the repatriation of 18 children on the 12th of June 2023 and 6 in October 2023. &#8220;The Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare is currently housing four Angolan children at the Namibian Children Home in Windhoek as part of the ongoing efforts of the two governments,&#8221; Naanda said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation is perturbed by messages circulating on social media alleging that the Government of Namibia is not addressing the issue of children from the Republic of Angola who are wandering, selling, and begging on the streets of Windhoek and other towns in Namibia. The Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation wishes to clarify and inform that the allegations circulating on various social media platforms are devoid of any truth and are intended to mislead the Namibian public,&#8221; Naanda said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that the relationship between the Republics of Angola and Namibia, based on longstanding bonds of friendship, solidarity, and supreme sacrifice, continues to be characterized by warm and excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and peoples.
