{"id":353263,"date":"2024-01-06T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-06T03:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=353263"},"modified":"2024-01-05T16:25:03","modified_gmt":"2024-01-05T14:25:03","slug":"businesspeople-build-police-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=353263","title":{"rendered":"Businesspeople build police station"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maria David<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TO address the rising crime rate, local business owners in the Oshana Region have pooled their funds to construct a police station at Onawa reception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This initiative follows numerous complaints of criminal activity in the region, filed with the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) after the relocation of over 3,000 individuals, aiming to bring law enforcement services closer to the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sash Trading Company, one of the donors, contributed a containerized charge office, a fence, abolition facilities, and shade nets. I have the people. With our community, we can work together and reduce crime,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shikongo subsequently challenged the community to stop protecting criminals and, instead, take a stand against crime by identifying and reporting those responsible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oshana Governor Elia Irimari, speaking at the same occasion, indicated that the construction of this police station signifies a significant milestone in their ongoing efforts to enhance law enforcement and crime prevention in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;As representatives of government at the regional level, it is our collective duty to ensure the safety and well-being of all our citizens.
