A SAND miner allegedly discovered a human skull and jawbone in a pile of sand in Ondangwa recently. This was confirmed by Deputy Commissioner Theophilus Kamati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Kamati, a human skull was found by a factory worker while they were manufacturing bricks in Ondangwa, next to Sun-square Mall, and they notified investigators in Ondangwa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The skull was found next to a pile of bricks that were manufactured and alleged to have been found in a pile of sand that was brought by their truck driver,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the sand was retrieved from Onashiku village in the area of Oshakati, according to the truck driver who collected the sand last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“When we arrived at the secondary scene where sand mining was in progress, a member of the community allegedly indicated that in the olden days, there used to be a cemetery close to where the mine is situated, and there is a possibility that the skull is from there,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kamati noted that it is further alleged that, since back then, they used to bury people scattered in that area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He indicated that the committee members and the site secretary are allegedly aware of a cemetery site in that vicinity and have cordoned off the possible cemetery site by fencing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
