{"id":332674,"date":"2022-12-30T17:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-30T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=332674"},"modified":"2022-12-30T16:04:58","modified_gmt":"2022-12-30T14:04:58","slug":"fewer-high-school-graduates-qualify-for-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=332674","title":{"rendered":"Fewer high school graduates qualify for university"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Maria David<\/p>\n<p>A TOTAL of 5 812 learners who sat for their 2022 national examination for NSSCO have qualified for higher learning institutions in Namibia, having obtained 25 points and above.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Education Anna Nghipondoka said a total of 38 019 full\u2013time candidates were registered for 2022 National Senior Secondary Ordinary level examinations at 363 full-time centres.<\/p>\n<p>She said this number shows a significant drop of 8 958 candidates compared to the total full-time candidates at the same level in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Nghipondoka pointed out that NSSCAS full-time and part-time candidates might qualify to enroll at institutions of higher learning based on the combination of their NSSCAS and NSSCO results.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;NSSCO part-time candidates might have accumulated improved grades over the past few years to qualify for various courses at different Institutions of Higher Learning,&#8221; she said.<br \/>She added that some NSSCO candidates might also qualify for admission at Institutions of higher learning that require less than 25 points\u00a0for\u00a0admission.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video aligncenter\"><video height=\"720\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1280 \/ 720;\" width=\"1280\" controls src=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Fewer-high-school-graduates-qualify-for-university.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">VIDEO: Charity Mukumba, Oshigambo High School learner, who is among the top 20 full-time candidates and best performers for the ordinary level said that determination motivated her to study hard.
