{"id":325560,"date":"2022-09-07T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-07T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=325560"},"modified":"2022-09-07T10:04:51","modified_gmt":"2022-09-07T08:04:51","slug":"trial-of-the-law-suit-against-gazza-begins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=325560","title":{"rendered":"Trial of the Law suit against Gazza begins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Staff reporter<\/p>\n<p>THE legal suit instituted against Namibia&#8217;s prominent musician Lazarus Shiimi, also known as Gazza by a consulting firm, Trinity Transaction Advisory (TTA) has commenced with its trial in the High Court of Namibia, before Judge Collins Parker.<\/p>\n<p>The legal actions were instituted last year, when TTA claimed that Shiimi had breached a commercial contract it concluded with him for ambassadorial deals with certain institutions, where TTA was to provide consulting legal advisory services to Shiimi for a period of 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>TTA argued that in total, it had secured a deal of N$2,562, 050.00 on behalf of Shiimi, to which it was entitled to get 20% of the deal, amounting to N$ 580,041.50.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"744\" height=\"446\" src=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Trial-of-the-Law-suit-against-Gazza-begins.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-325562\" srcset=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Trial-of-the-Law-suit-against-Gazza-begins.jpg 744w, https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Trial-of-the-Law-suit-against-Gazza-begins-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Trial-of-the-Law-suit-against-Gazza-begins-500x300.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 744px) 100vw, 744px\" \/><figcaption>LEGAL TROUBLES: Lazarus Shiimi. Photo: Contributed<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<p><\/p>\n<p>However, the consulting firm stated that it only received N$180,250.00.<br>According to TTA, Shiimi concluded a brand ambassador agreement to the value of N$1,440,000.00 with Namibian Breweries as well as an agreement with KFC to the value of N$250,000.00, and that all these agreements were concluded and implemented as a result of the consultancy services provided by TTA.<\/p>\n<p>While TTA submitted to court that Shiimi has acted in an unlawful manner by violating the terms and conditions of the contract, by refusing to pay the agreed percentages, Shiimi, in his answering affidavit, refuted such allegation.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the consulting firm did not execute the services efficiently, diligently and professionally.
