THE Police in the Erongo Region are seeking public assistance in determining the whereabouts of five men who robbed a petrol station manager of N$ 49 000.00 which he was attempting to deposit at a bank.<\/p>\n

According to the report, the robbery happened today, 25 July at about 09:05 at the four way stop, corner of Rikumbi Kandanga street and Theo-Ben Gurirab street next to Bank Windhoek main Branch, Walvis Bay.<\/p>\n

It is alleged that the victim, a 34 year-old male, Manager at Puma Service station-Rikumbi Kandanga Avenue-accompanied by his colleague were walking from the service station to deposit money at Bank Windhoek, Walvis Bay when a group of about five suspects, two of them armed with pangas and the rest armed with knives came out of a white Toyota Quest with a fake reg. no. N 25801 WB, attacked the victims, snatched off them a bag containing N$ 49 000.00 and jumped into the getaway vehicle.<\/p>\n

They then drove off along Theo-Ben Gurirab street. The complainant sustained slight injuries in the process. Police are working on the process to identify the suspects. It is established that nothing was recovered.<\/p>\n

Police call upon the public to assist, requesting that anyone with information that will help in identifying and arresting of the suspects as well as recovery of stolen money should urgently contact Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu at 0812464757or Detective Inspector Michael Ambambi at 081 6401 600 or report at any nearest Police station.<\/p>\n
