Photo: Samuel Shinedima<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis court has therefore the duty to intervene on behalf of the public which in this case includes the Chinese nationals by keeping people like the applicants before court from the streets by denying bail. Seen in the light of the incidents at China Town on 12 and 13 May 2022 it is clear that the applicants do not have respect for the law and they do have the capacity to mobilize illegal demonstrations causing anarchy and chaos,\u201d Husselmann said.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor further amplified that the law applies to everyone in the same way, no matter who they know or how important they think they are.<\/p>\n<p>The state prosecutor argued that while Amushelelo is concerned about the N$5 million counterfeit goods destroyed by NamRA, he did not consider the millions of dollars he allegedly extracted from poor Namibians unlawfully of which the case is now pending in the High Court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe applicants have failed on a balance of probability to show to this honourable court that they are good candidates to be released on bail.
