THE Goethe-Institut of Namibia in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) granted 10 Namibian creative companies a chance to bring their ventures to greater heights in their Creative Entrepreneurship Programme.<\/p>\n

Launched on 12 April 2020, the programme offers young Namibian entrepreneurs in the creative industry knowledge on how to set up a business that will yield profits.<\/p>\n

Donovan Madjiedt, Creative Entrepreneurship Programme Coordinator, explained that the training of the entrepreneurs will kick off this month and end in October.<\/p>\n

He noted that this is the third year of the creative entrepreneurship programme and that this year, it specifically focuses on the music industry and festival production in the country.<\/p>\n

Deonerica Kuhlmahn, the pioneer of the OFF THE GRID festival, said the programme will do much in helping her with understanding the hurdles in setting up a formal business and learning the financials as well as administrative elements.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I started the OFF THE GRID festival, it was an idea that I just came up with and executed haphazardly. However, with this mentorship programme, I can learn step by step and set up a successful business,\u201d Kuhlmahn said.<\/p>\n

Madjiedt added that the programme was formed in correlation with the GIZ Start-up initiative, and will not only give young entrepreneurs knowledge but assist these businesses with monthly stipends.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe programme this year aims at businesses who operate in the music industry with a refined focus on reviving the music festival scene in Namibia and after an exciting application process the businesses for the cohort have been chosen and we’re ready to introduce them to you,\u201d Madjiedt said<\/p>\n
