Photos: Maria David<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><a class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_button-prev swiper-button-prev swiper-button-white\" role=\"button\"><\/a><a class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_button-next swiper-button-next swiper-button-white\" role=\"button\"><\/a><a aria-label=\"Pause Slideshow\" class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_button-pause\" role=\"button\"><\/a><div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_pagination swiper-pagination swiper-pagination-white\"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<p>King Nangolo told those in attendance that the two kingdoms have good relations working and friendship dating back to history, and need not be destroyed but safeguarded at all times.<\/p>\n<p>He indicated that their relationship dates back to the time of King Mandume Ndemufayo, who died in the battle of Oihole against the Portuguese and South African and British colonial forces on 6 February 1917.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to keep track of our history and know our cultures so we don\u2019t look lost in the nations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>King Nangolo added that the two kingdoms might be different in names, but they remain with an unbreakable bond.<\/p>\n<p>Nelulu on his part said Ondonga and Oukwanyama people should never break the bond of unity that was cemented years ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe remain one people and our ties should not be allowed to be destroyed by any individuals,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Nelulu also reminded people in his district to never forget how the people of the Ondonga kingdom lent them assistance during the Portuguese battle in the 1800s.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maria David UNITY remains key for the Ondonga and Oukwanyama people as they continue to create an atmosphere of cordial relations.
