{"id":313873,"date":"2022-02-04T07:45:59","date_gmt":"2022-02-04T05:45:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=313873"},"modified":"2022-02-04T07:46:03","modified_gmt":"2022-02-04T05:46:03","slug":"khomas-reports-most-hospitalized-icu-cases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=313873","title":{"rendered":"Khomas reports most hospitalized, ICU cases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Staff Reporter<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>OF all hospitalized Covid-19 cases 91.6% are unvaccinated and neither are any of the cases in Intensive Care Units (ICUs).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>This was announced by health minister Dr Kalumbi Shangula in the latest Covid-19 update report.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The Khomas and Omusati regions have the most hospitalized cases, 17 and 16 respectively, while Khomas also has the highest number of ICU cases, namely five.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Ohangwena and Erongo reported 12 hospitalized cases, Oshana ten, Kunene seven, Zambezi five, Oshikoto and Hardap four each, Kavango East and ||Karas three each, and Otjozondjupa two.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Other regions reporting ICU cases were Oshikoto (two), and Erongo, Oshana and Kavango East (one each).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>From 921 test results, 61 new positive cases were reported which represents a 6.6% positivity ratio. The ages range from three to 103 years.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Among the confirmed cases are six learners from different schools, four health care workers and three teachers.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Of the total confirmed cases, 75.4% are unvaccinated.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>No deaths were reported and 151 cases from 11 regions have recovered.<br>The number of active cases is 8 021.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>By 1 February, a total of 360 826 people were fully vaccinated, translating to 20.3% of the target population, while 17 000 have received a booster dose.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>File photo for illustrative purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><!-- MetaSlider 271797 not found --><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Staff Reporter OF all hospitalized Covid-19 cases 91.6% are unvaccinated and neither are any of the cases in Intensive Care Units (ICUs).
