SEVEN Covid-19 deaths were reported on 12 January and another 14 between 7 and 11 January.<\/p>\n

Four people died at home, of which two are from the Oshakati district and one each from the Opuwo and Okakarara districts.
None of the deceased were vaccinated.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
This was announced by the Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Kalumbi Shangula, in the latest 24-hour update.
\u201cThe number of active cases is 10 291 and 333 cases are currently hospitalized across all the 14 regions,\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cSix of the hospitalized cases have received one dose of the vaccine, 30 are fully vaccinated, while 297 are not vaccinated constituting 89.2% of all hospitalized cases.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dr Shangula said 34 cases are in Intensive Care Units (ICUs), of which two cases are fully vaccinated and 32 are not, representing 94.1% of all cases in ICUs.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
From 2 775 test results, 373 new cases were reported which represents a 13.4% positivity ratio.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cOut of the total confirmed cases, 358 are new cases and 15 cases are re-infections,\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The ages range from 13 days to 109 years.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are reporting cases from all the regions, with the Omusati region recording the highest number of cases (63) of which one is a re-infection, constituting 16.9% of the total cases, followed by Khomas region with 44 cases, of which two are re-infections, accounting for 11.8% of the total reported cases,\u201d Dr Shangula said.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Among the confirmed cases are 43 learners, nine teachers, five health care workers and three students.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Six cases have received one dose of the vaccine, 47 are fully vaccinated of which three received a booster dose, and four of the vaccinated cases did not specify the number of doses received.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Of the total confirmed cases, 316 cases are not vaccinated, accounting for 84.7%.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are reporting 673 new recoveries from nine regions,\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
By 12 January, a total of 409 821 people aged 18 years and older have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, representing 27.8% of the adult target population.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
A total of 108 207 have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, while 241 286 adults have received two doses of other vaccine types.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, 349 493 adults have completed their vaccination, translating to 23.7% of the target population,\u201d the Minister said.
A total 2 634 children aged 12 to 17 years have received at least one dose of the Pfizer vaccine, representing 0.8% of the target population (307 298). Of these, 496 are fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Therefore, the cumulative number of people vaccinated with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine for both adults and children is 412 455, of which 349 989 are fully vaccinated, translating to 19.7% of the total target population, while 9 365 people have received a booster dose.<\/p>\n
