<\/p>\n

THE Government Institution Pension Fund (GIPF) continues to enforce the suspension of its biometrics verification process due to the increase in Covid-19 cases.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This was announced by the fund\u2019s manager of annuities, Ignatius Manyando.
In 2021, the GIPF announced the suspension of its fingerprint verification process, at the same time assuring the members that the holdup will not affect payment of their benefits.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to Manyando, the country continues to record an increase in Covid-19 cases, and as such, the GIPF aims to protect every Namibian who makes use of their services.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cThis suspension will not in any case affect their monthly annuities for our beneficiaries, spousal, and child annuitants,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Manyando said the annuitants can maintain peace of mind knowing that they continue to administer their benefits in the most prudent manner and can continue to expect that their benefits will be paid timeously as usual.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He indicated that in case of the death of a beneficiary, family members are encouraged to immediately contact their nearest GIPF office and establish if there is a funeral benefit payable.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is imperative that the GIPF adheres to regulations put in place to curb the spread of Covid-19,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
