Photo: Ministry of Health and Social Services<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><a class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_button-prev swiper-button-prev swiper-button-white\" role=\"button\"><\/a><a class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_button-next swiper-button-next swiper-button-white\" role=\"button\"><\/a><a aria-label=\"Pause Slideshow\" class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_button-pause\" role=\"button\"><\/a><div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow_pagination swiper-pagination swiper-pagination-white\"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She said malaria is endemic in 10 of Namibia\u2019s 14 regions, namely Kavango East, Kavango West, Ohangwena, Zambezi, Omusati, Oshana, Kunene, Oshikoto, Omaheke and Otjozondjupa.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Muinjangue said the Namibian government with the support of various partners has been battling malaria for years and malaria elimination has become one of the ultimate public health goals.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We can achieve zero malaria in Namibia if we unite to ensure a successful campaign which will eventually contribute to the national goal of malaria elimination by 2023,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Muinjangue urged community members to support the indoor residual spraying (IRS) campaign by allowing health officials and spray operators to enter their homes, as well as encourage their neighbours to participate and be protected against malaria infections.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She said indoor residual spraying is freely provided by the Ministry of Health and Social Services, and is safe for humans and domestic animals.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Please be assured that all indoor residual spraying operations will be performed in compliance with recommendations and regulations to prevent Covid-19 transmission.
