receive rainfall and hailstorm.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>October is the start of the rainy season and some parts of the country have already received heavy showers.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Windhoek, however, only started receiving showers measuring 3mm late Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow aligncenter\" data-autoplay=\"true\" data-delay=\"3\" heavy rainfall and flooding, making it difficult for the traffic to move, with some residents of especially informal settlements reporting house damages due to heavy showers.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Namibia Meteorological Services weather forecaster, Odilo Kgobetsi, said Windhoek is expected to receive more rainfall during the evening after the capital city received some droplets&nbsp;accompanied by hail.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Kgobetsi said that Windhoek recorded&nbsp;12mm of rainfall today, however, the southeast recorded even more rainfall.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Rain will continue northeast, east, central and the southeastern part of the country. A flash flood is expected in the Karas Region this evening and Friday morning again,&#8221; Kgobetsi said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>According to Kgobetsi, about 44mm was recorded at Otavi yesterday, while Kombat recorded 6mm, and Grootfontien 12mm.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>More rainfall is expected in the Karas Region and northeast and southern parts of Namibia today.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><!-- MetaSlider 271797 not found --><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maria David and Marthina Mutanga&nbsp; THERE is a good chance of rain across Namibia over the weekend, as more towns continue to receive rainfall and hailstorm.
