{"id":305927,"date":"2021-07-10T07:49:21","date_gmt":"2021-07-10T05:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=305927"},"modified":"2021-07-10T07:49:24","modified_gmt":"2021-07-10T05:49:24","slug":"hospital-visits-for-prisoners-suspended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=305927","title":{"rendered":"Hospital visits for prisoners suspended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eba Kandovazu<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>WITH the continued spike in COVID-19 cases countrywide, the Commissioner-General of the Correctional Services, Raphael Hamunyela announced that all escorts of prisoners to public hospitals have been suspended.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He said that prisoners will only be taken to a hospital in an emergency situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hamunyela announced the new directive in safety measures and said it would be effective immediately and will continue until 31 July 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the Commissioner-General announced that all new admissions to prisons from court proceedings must be isolated for seven days before prisoners will be integrated into the different sections and cells within a correctional facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"502\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Hospital-visits-for-prisoners-suspended.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-305929\" srcset=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Hospital-visits-for-prisoners-suspended.jpg 502w, https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Hospital-visits-for-prisoners-suspended-294x300.jpg 294w, https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Hospital-visits-for-prisoners-suspended-36x36.jpg 36w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 502px) 100vw, 502px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll transfers between prisons are suspended unless they are urgent and visits have been suspended.
