Her body was discovered in a bushy area along the Western Bypass road in January 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Elia, who was a long-distance bus driver, received a text message from the deceased on the morning of January 17, 2017, from the deceased\u2019s cell number informing him that she has a new boyfriend and that she was done with their relationship.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/IUM-student-killer-sentenced-to-30-years.jpeg\" alt=\"IUM student Victor Elia killed ex-girlfriend B1 road Windhoek Okahandja sentenced\" class=\"wp-image-304096\" srcset=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/IUM-student-killer-sentenced-to-30-years.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/IUM-student-killer-sentenced-to-30-years.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/IUM-student-killer-sentenced-to-30-years.jpeg 400w, https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/IUM-student-killer-sentenced-to-30-years.jpeg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This message was sent to Elia after the deceased spent the weekend of January 13 to 15, 2017 with the new boyfriend, who came to visit her from the coast, it is stated in the indictment.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is further stated Elia that met up with the deceased during the period January 16 and\/or 17, 2017 in Windhoek and killed her by kicking and\/or beating her over her body and head with unknown objects, where-after he stole her cellular phone, a SIM card, a handbag, a jacket and a pair of shoes and then dumped her body in a bushy area to frustrate the investigation into the disappearance of the deceased.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Elia then cleaned his vehicle, removed blood belonging to the deceased from the vehicle, and set alight the belongings of the deceased as well as a headrest from the vehicle with the aim to defeat or obstruct the course of justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><!-- MetaSlider 271797 not found --><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eba Kandovazu \u00a0 VICTOR Elia, the man who killed his ex-girlfriend before dumping her remains on the B1 road between Windhoek and Okahandja was sentenced to 30 years in jail. \u00a0 The 39-year-old Elia killed Iyaloo Hainghumbi, 25, in 2017.
