The disinfection of vehicles and their occupants is a mandatory action to prevent the spread of FMD south of the veterinary line.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The traffic jam starts to the south of Omuthiya and stretches for several kilometres all the way to the checkpoint at Oshivelo.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"FMD jams traffic\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vJ33IgCyJ1A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The head of the Namibian Police\u2019s Public Relations Division, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi said in a short statement with regard to the heavy congestion on the road from the North that special arrangements have been made to accommodate motorists that might be delayed on the road from the North although the COVID-19 curfew is still in place that.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose who arrive beyond curfew that starts at 22:00 will be allowed to finish their journeys but this arrangement should not be abused because extreme violation of curfew hours will not be tolerated and might still result in fines being issued at the various checkpoints,\u201d Shikwambi said.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She said the Namibian Police is urging motorists to be patient and to always adhere to traffic regulations.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><!-- MetaSlider 271797 not found --><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ni\u00ebl Terblanch\u00e9 \u00a0 TRAFFIC from the North is severely congested and backed up for several kilometres from the Oshivelo veterinary and police checkpoint as a result of measures aimed at preventing the spread of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). \u00a0 Thousands of people are stuck in a huge traffic jam as veterinary officials are busy &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":302876,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[33,24],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-302873","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-breaking-news","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.5 -
