{"id":300999,"date":"2021-02-09T17:03:52","date_gmt":"2021-02-09T15:03:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=300999"},"modified":"2021-02-09T17:06:04","modified_gmt":"2021-02-09T15:06:04","slug":"development-bank-of-namibia-to-roll-out-covid-19-relief-loans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=300999","title":{"rendered":"Development Bank of Namibia to roll out COVID-19 Relief loans"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Business Reporter<br><br><\/p>\n<p>THE Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) has announced that it is undertaking visits in the central and northern regions of Namibia to promote its recently launched Covid-19 Business Relief Loans, as well as finance for youth enterprises.<br><br><\/p>\n<p>The N$450 million relief facility, provided with the support of a concessional loan from KFW, aims to support existing businesses with operating capital for a period of three or six months, depending on need. The finance takes the form of a commercial loan repayable over 60 months.<br><br><\/p>\n<p>At the onset of the Covid-19 economic trough in early 2020, DBN extended repayment holidays to its SME borrowers and borrowers in the tourism and hospitality sector.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Development-Bank-of-Namibia-to-roll-out-COVID-19-Relief-loans.jpg\" alt=\"Development Bank Namibia COVID-19 Relief loans Development Bank Namibia DBN\" class=\"wp-image-301000\" srcset=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Development-Bank-of-Namibia-to-roll-out-COVID-19-Relief-loans.jpg 225w, https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Development-Bank-of-Namibia-to-roll-out-COVID-19-Relief-loans.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><figcaption>RELIEF FUNDING: Picture for illustrative purposes only. Photo: DBN<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The new Covid-19 Business Relief Loans are being extended to all existing formal enterprises that qualify in terms of the requirements of the facility.<br><br><\/p>\n<p>The visits will also promote finance for youth, in the form of skills-based lending for professionals and artisans, as well as general lending for youth entrepreneurs under DBN\u2019s SME and larger lending facilities.<br><br><\/p>\n<p>In addition to business meetings, DBN will meet with regional dignitaries to assess projects and associated needs for finance.<br><br><\/p>\n<p>The visits began in the Erongo Region on the first Friday and Saturday of February, and will travel to the Oshana, Omusati, Ohangwena, Kavango West and East regions and then conclude with visits to the Oshikoto and Otjozondjupa regions.<br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><!-- MetaSlider 271797 not found --><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":301003,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[27,24],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-300999","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-business","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.5 -
