{"id":300981,"date":"2021-02-08T23:43:20","date_gmt":"2021-02-08T21:43:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=300981"},"modified":"2021-02-08T22:54:45","modified_gmt":"2021-02-08T20:54:45","slug":"driver-on-the-run-after-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=300981","title":{"rendered":"Driver on the run after crash"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ni\u00ebl Terblanch\u00e9<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>THE Namibian Police in Walvis Bay is looking for the driver of a car who ran away after crashing into the fenced off area around a communications tower during the early hours of Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Three occupants of the car sustained various degrees of injuries, while the driver and another passenger left the scene of the crash before police officers arrived.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the accident report that was provided by the Namibian Police in the Erongo Region, the crash occurred at the end of 5th Road at around about 01:44.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"540\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Driver-on-the-run-after-crash.jpg\" alt=\"Driver run crash Namibian Police Walvis Bay driver crashing fenced\" class=\"wp-image-300985\" srcset=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Driver-on-the-run-after-crash.jpg 169w, https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Driver-on-the-run-after-crash.jpg 540w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><figcaption>HUNG UP: Serious damage was caused to the palisade fence of a communications tower in Walvis Bay after a vehicle crashed into it.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The report states that the driver of a red Toyota Run X with registration number N162-019W, lost control over the vehicle before it became airborne and crashing into concrete palisade surrounding the MTC tower.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle also flipped over before getting hung up on the palisade fence around the tower.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A 28-year-old woman was seriously injured and after being stabilised in a Walvis Bay hospital, was transferred to a Windhoek hospital for further emergency medical treatment, while a 25-year-old man was less severely injured and was admitted to the Walvis Bay state hospital and a 27-year-old man was discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment for his injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, the driver fled from the scene of the crash without ascertaining the extent of the damage or injuries to his passengers.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A case of reckless and negligent driving and a case of fleeing the accident scene and failing to ascertain the nature of injuries or extent of damage was registered with the Walvis Bay Police.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><!-- MetaSlider 271797 not found --><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":300985,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[24],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-300981","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.5 -
