{"id":300724,"date":"2021-02-01T20:00:28","date_gmt":"2021-02-01T18:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=300724"},"modified":"2021-02-01T20:00:31","modified_gmt":"2021-02-01T18:00:31","slug":"police-accused-of-thuggery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=300724","title":{"rendered":"Police accused of thuggery"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ni\u00ebl Terblanc\u00e9<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A COMPLAINT was lodged with the Inspector General of the Namibian Police about members of the Special Field Force intimidating members of the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The complainant is a woman who was driving home on Friday afternoon when the incident occurred.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the woman, she and two of her friends were driving on the Daan Viljoen Road in a 60 kilometre per hour zone when a minibus with POL 8731 registration numberplate came up behind their vehicle at a high speed.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the police vehicle had activated the siren and was driving in such a way as to force other drivers, including the complainant, off the road.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When the complainant did not get out of the way of the oncoming police vehicle fast enough, the driver stopped and intimidated the women.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the police vehicle was very reportedly aggressive and told the women to be cautious.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe driver used the words \u201cpassop papa\u201d and acted very intimidating.
