accident claims second life"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ni\u00ebl Terblanch\u00e9<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>THE gyrocopter crash that occurred about ten kilometres outside Windhoek on Thursday claimed a second life.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hafeni Mushixwa, a senior aircraft accident investigator at the Directorate of Aircraft Accident Investigations was only able to confirm that the person that was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of one of the hospitals in Windhoek succumbed to his injuries in the hospital sometime during Thursday night<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He said several forensic procedures still have to be completed before the Directorate of Aircraft Accident Investigation could produce a preliminary report about the possible cause of the horrific incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Although the names of the two young men that were flying in the small aircraft at the time of the crash were not officially released by authorities, they were identified as Donbaldt Noa and Pierre Blaauw.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-slideshow\" data-autoplay=\"true\" data-delay=\"5\" data-effect=\"slide\"><div swiper-pagination-white\"><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A woman who witnessed the incident said the aircraft was flying very low moments before hitting power lines across the road between Windhoek and the Hosea Kutako International Airport on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The aircraft crashed to the ground and burst into flames trapping both occupants inside.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A truck driver, who stopped at the scene after he saw the gyrocopter crashing to the ground in front of him, pulled one of the occupants from the burning wreck.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It turned out that Noa was burned beyond recognition and that Blaauw was barely clinging to life when he was transported to hospital by
