THE revival of Namibia\u2019s economy and plans to attain that goal will feature high on the agenda of a retreat for members of Cabinet.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
President Hage Geingob will lead the two-day-long event that will provide a platform for the Cabinet and key officials in Government to familiarise themselves with the Cabinet Handbook to enhance actions to serve the Namibian people better.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
The retreat will also focus on effective governance, economic recovery, and change leadership.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
In this regard, the President has invited world-class thought leaders from Africa, Singapore, and the United States in the areas of governance, economics, social policy, and communications to address and guide members of Cabinet attending the event.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Some of these leaders include Ambassador Ami Mpungwe (Private Sector and Development), Professor Kishore Mahbubani (Public Policy and Governance), Milton Nkosi (Communications), Dr. Acha Leke (Economic Competitiveness), Professor Edgar Pieterse (Housing), Professor Ricardo Hausmann (Economic Transformation) and Professor Carlos Lopes who will serve as Facilitator of the Retreat.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
President Geingob said during the final meeting of Cabinet for 2020 that the intention was to host the retreat during March, immediately after new Cabinet members were sworn in. However, due to COVID-19, the Retreat could not take please and the President had found it opportune for this activity to take place before the end of the year.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
During the retreat, members of Cabinet will reflect on the ethos of inclusive and transparent governance with the avowed objective of better and effective service delivery to the Namibian people.<\/p>\n
