They were also responsible for identifying vulnerable people that needs assistance in the wider community.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>MTC\u2019s spokesperson, Fikameni Mathias, said every month employees contribute as much as they can for the benefit of the less fortunate members of society.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a committee we decided to take our assistance to people of Mashare village, who suffers from leprosy,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mashare is home to the biggest community of leprosy patients in Namibia, who live together voluntarily due to their shared experience of stigma and isolation.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Mashare settlement was, until the early 1980s, the site of a leprosarium.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><!-- MetaSlider 271797 not found --><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><!-- MetaSlider 271797 not found --><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":297663,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[24],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-297660","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.5 -
