He was also part of Namibia&#8217;s first National Assembly and served the country until he retired in 1993.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mudge was a founder of the Democratic Turnhalle Alliance (DTA), the forerunner of the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM), in 1977 and served as chairman of the party and leader of controversial internal governments through much of the 1980s, before Namibia attained independence.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mudge was also the founder of Democratic Media Holdings which, amongst others, published Namibia&#8217;s Afrikaans newspaper, Republikein.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><!-- MetaSlider 271797 not found --><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":297650,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[33,24],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-297651","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-breaking-news","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.5 -
