Photo: Contributed<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tjongarero noted that the current situation in the football fraternity has reached alarming proportions and bears the potential of adversely affecting the nation\u2019s ability to deliver on creating jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tjongarero stated that it is set out in 5th National Development Plan (NDP5), which has set forth football as the National sport code to be at the forefront of our developmental initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to her, the power of football in society is on display every day around the world. It is a game that brings people together, inspires generations, promotes team spirit, and foster nation-building and social cohesion. In this regard, Namibia is no exception.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ministry aimed to promote sport, by bringing long-lasting harmony and peace in football fraternity towards achieving national development objectives and for the better of all athletes in the Namibian House,&#8221; said Tjongarero.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tjongarero stated that her office has directed the Namibia Sports Commission to appoint, in line with Section 8 of the Namibia Sports Act 12 of 2003, a committee to independently and impartially mitigate the impasse in Namibia football.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She also appealed to all stakeholders to render support and assistance to the committee to achieve the intended assignment.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><!-- MetaSlider 271797 not found --><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":295714,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[24,28],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-295710","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","category-sports"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
