{"id":279112,"date":"2019-09-20T08:26:09","date_gmt":"2019-09-20T06:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=279112"},"modified":"2019-09-20T08:26:12","modified_gmt":"2019-09-20T06:26:12","slug":"nfcpt-takes-fish-to-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/?p=279112","title":{"rendered":"NFCPT takes fish to people"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div id=\"js_2\" class=\"_5pbx userContent _3576\" data-testid=\"post_message\" data-ft=\"{&quot;tn&quot;:&quot;K&quot;}\">\n<p>Maria David<\/p>\n<p>TAKING fish to the people remains the aim of the Namibia Fish Consumption Promotion Trust (NFCPT) and as a result the company will be hosting the National Fish Consumption Day (NFCD) at Omuthiya in the Oshikoto Region.<br \/>The event is being held from 27-28 September under the theme, \u201cTowards a Fish-Eating Nation\u201d.<br \/>Initiated in 2012, the NFCD is about promoting and facilitating fish consumption at the regional level.<br \/>In a media release issued on Tuesday, the Trust\u2019s public relations officer De Wet Siluka stated that a soccer and netball competition titled Honorable Bernhard Esau 7-a-side Soccer Tournament has started in the region Tuesday and will conclude on the 28 September.<br \/>The tournament is named after Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Bernhard Esau.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-279140\" src=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/70759418_2460618517338427_5077110995566985216_n-300x168.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/70759418_2460618517338427_5077110995566985216_n-300x168.png 300w, https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/70759418_2460618517338427_5077110995566985216_n-768x429.png 768w, https:\/\/informante.web.na\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/70759418_2460618517338427_5077110995566985216_n.png 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>\u201cThe tournament forms part of the 2019 NFCD and its participation is limited to school-going boys and girls under 15 years old,\u201d Siluka explained, adding that school teams were selected from 11 constituencies of the region.<br \/>Four netball teams and 14 soccer teams form part of the tournament. <br \/>According to Siluka, the soccer tournament will coincide with NFCD roadshow in all 11 constituencies of the Oshikoto Region focusing on theatre, drama, mascot, dance performance, audience interactions, dancing competition, quizzes and fish sales.<br \/>The NFCD was launched in Swakopmund in the Erongo Region eight years ago and has since rolled out to seven regions such as Omaheke, Otjozondjupa, Omusati, Oshana, Kavango West and Kunene.<br \/>To date, Siluka said, the initiative has raised over N$3.1 million that has been invested towards improving the quality of education of the host regions.<br \/>A fundraising gala dinner scheduled for the 27 September at Omuthiya in addition to the sport tournament and roadshows.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><!-- MetaSlider 271797 not found --><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":279142,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[24],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-279112","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.6 -
