Ever vibrant and never backing down from a fight, Paulus Ambunda, will be looking to prove that age is just a number when he takes on 24-year-old Stephen Fulton for the IBO Super Bantamweight World Title on 11 May in Washington.
Ambunda who is the current IBO Super Bantamweight World champion, said that he will be leaving on Sunday to prepare for the biggest fight of his life against the American youngster who has 15 fights and victories to his name.
During a press briefing in Windhoek where he flexed some muscle and showed the nation on what to expect, Ambunda said that he is still the lion of Africa and is ready and fully fit for the fight.
“I am very well prepared, 100 percent fit and with no injuries. I am looking to bring my title back home as I am still the lion of Africa.” He said.
He said that he along with members of his training camp have studied some videos of his opponent and that he know what the task at hand entails.
“I have checked out his videos. He is young and tough but I am sure he has never been tested. So I need to make sure that I take care of him from the first round until the last round and retain my title,” he said.
He also said that, his age is not a factor as he still has the prowess to fight in the ring.
“The boy is young and hungry to become champion but I have been there and I will also be there. America is like my village (Omusimboti) and I will go into the fight like a warrior going to war and bring the title back home,” Ambunda said.
