President Hage Geingob sent condolences to Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, in the wake of the death of former President Jacques Chirac.
In this regard Dr. Geingob sent a special letter with a message of commiserations to the French President.
“At this solemn hour, Namibia remembers the pivotal role he played during Namibia’s liberation struggle,” Dr. Geingob stated.
In his letter President Geingob, on behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Namibia, wished the French Republic sincere commiserations.
Jacques Chirac, who served as the President of France from 1995 to 2007 during a political career that spanned more than four decades, died at the age of 86.
