THREE women, who are all related to each other, appeared in the Khorixas Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder after they were arrested in connection with the death of the 18-year-old David Thaniseb.
According to the crime bulletin provided by the Public Relations Division of the Namibian Police the three women are accused of stabbing the victim to death during an argument at the Louw Inn during the early hours of Saturday morning.
The victim sustained several stab wounds in his chest and died on the scene a few minutes after the attack.
The Khorixas Police are still looking for a fourth suspect who fled the scene of the crime.
During a similar incident in the Mondesa neighbourhood of Swakopmund the 38-year-old Fillipus Mateus, died after his 36-year-old girlfriend stabbed him several times him in the neck, chest and shoulder during a quarrel. He also died on the spot.
The incident occurred at the suspect’s ghetto behind house number 1606, in Omulondo Street during the early hours of Saturday morning.
The woman handed herself over to the Mondesa Police shortly after her boyfriend’s death and appeared in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder earlier on Tuesday.
The 58-year-old Johannes Frederik, a resident of Gibeon, died after his skull was crushed by another man who threw rocks on his head during a fight in a dry riverbed on the outskirts of the small southern town.
According to the incident report Frederik, the suspect and a woman were drinking alcohol in the riverbed on Friday afternoon. At about 16:00 quarrel erupted between the suspect and the woman and the deceased attempted to stop the altercation. The suspect knocked Frederik down and threw three rocks on his head which killed him instantly.
The suspect was arrested and subsequently charged with murder.
The Police at Ondobe arrested a man on a charge of attempted murder after he beat another man with a piece of wood on his head. The motive for the attack is not yet known.
The incident occurred at about 21: on Sunday evening at the Omakondo Village in the Ondobe policing area.
The victim, who has not been identified, was admitted to the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital where he is still in a critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
A 56-year-old man was arrested on Friday in the Bloedrivier location at Koës after he stabbed his 33-year-old girlfriend in her right shoulder and breast with an Okapi knife.
It was reported that the woman survived the attack despite sustaining two deep wounds.
The man appeared on charges of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court earlier on Tuesday.
